LAMDA exams culminate at Grade 8 and can be in:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Acting<\/li>\n<li>Devising Drama<\/li>\n<li>Miming<\/li>\n<li>Speaking Verse and Prose<\/li>\n<li>Reading for Performance<\/li>\n<li>Using Spoken English<\/li>\n<li>Speaking in Public<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Pupils can perform as individuals, as part of a duo, or in a group. Sessions take place at lunchtime and after school. There is a fee for this which is charged separately. From time to time we may offer classes on Saturday mornings with external coaches.<\/p>\n<p>LAMDA exams offer an ongoing measurement of progress in speech and drama. The gradual progression through the LAMDA grades provides benchmarks for every stage of a pupil\u2019s development. They give an excellent grounding in public speaking, vocal accuracy and help to build confidence at all levels. The higher grades (6, 7, and 8 \u2013 the Bronze, Silver and Gold medal examinations) are also recognized within the UCAS tariff. The pupils are also offered a place on a dress rehearsal workshop which takes place on the Saturday before the examination.<\/p>\n<p>This year we offered Saturday sessions with students from Oxford School of Drama and held mock examination workshops in advance. We are delighted to report our best results ever with 22 distinctions, 9 merit grades and 2 pass grades awarded. Amongst these there were three gold medallists, with one student awarded 100%.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>A school where pupils are comfortable to be themselves and are excited to explore learning.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n    <\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\n\n\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div id=\"block_two-column-flexible-content\" class=\"block block-two-column-flexible-content theme--primary my-0 py-lg\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"grid-x narrow medium-up-2\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"cell\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"block-fc-content\" data-aos=\"fade-in\" data-aos-delay=\"200\">\n\t<div class=\"fc-content grid-x grid-padding-x grid-padding-y\">\n\t\t<div class=\"cell\">\n      <p class=\"h2 mb-sm\">Performing Arts Evenings<\/p>\n<p>We have three performing arts evening per year which gives us the opportunity to showcase the full range of Wychwood\u2019s talent from instrumentalists to musical theatre and solo monologues.<\/p>\n<p class=\"h2 mb-sm\">Form Plays<\/p>\n<p>In Hilary term all form groups are given the same title and are challenged to write, rehearse, design and perform a form play. We invite an external judge along to adjudicate the contest and one form is pronounced the winner.<\/p>\n<p class=\"h2 mb-sm\">Drama Club<\/p>\n<p>Drama club takes place after school and everyone is welcome to attend. The sessions are designed to be fun and creative in a safe supportive and non judgemental environment.
