A Level results 2023

We are delighted with our Study II A Level results this year, with 87% of grades awarded at A* – C and 31% of these are at A* – A. The stability and focus of an education at Wychwood has established the clear pathways for these successes.

Our leavers have places at their first and second choice universities and are going to top establishments including Durham, Nottingham, Reading and Sheffield to study courses ranging from Philosophy and Sociology to Biomedical and Human Sciences, and we are confident that they will continue to thrive as they pursue their chosen subjects. Mrs Evans, Head, said: “We are thrilled to be celebrating the academic success of our pupils today. They have achieved outstanding A Level results and we are immensely proud not only of their academic achievements but also of how they have triumphed in all aspects of their lives during their time at Wychwood. Each and every individual has contributed greatly to our school community, and we wish them every success as they embark on the next stage of their educational journey. We have no doubt that they will make their mark and excel in all that they do.”

A huge well done to Leony, our Head Councillor, who received an A* in her Textiles A Level and a B in Drama. Leony has always wowed us with her creative flair and artistic talent, and it is no surprise that she came third this year in the National Student Textiles Awards. She leaves us to study the art of 2D animation at Escape Studios.

We are especially proud of our deputy Head Councillor, Rebecca, for achieving an A in Maths, a B in Biology as well as a Distinction in her Grade 8 Drumming exam. As a recipient of the Honours board and joint recipient of the sports honours board and music cup, Rebecca, or ‘Bex’, certainly left her mark at Wychwood and has been our most frequent performer amongst this talented form. Rebecca will be leaving us to study Health and Human Science at Durham University.

Ela received an A* in Photography, an A in History of Art, and a B in Art. We know Ela best for playing piano, guitar, writing poetry and as a twice winner of Wychfactor. This year, Ela also submitted two short films to the Student World Impact Film Festival. Her films were accepted out of 13,000 submissions from 120 countries and she also won an award as a finalist for one of them. She is preparing to move on to the University of the Arts, London, to study film and television.
